Free enterprise malware and rootkit detection for the network defender
About
Codeword was designed and created by a couple of incident response geeks after much frustration with commercial forensic products. The founding author is sippy (Aaron LeMasters) and much work was contributed by Michael Davis (SavidTech). Check out our book (along with co-author Sean Bodmer), Hacking Exposed: Malware and Rootkits, McGraw-Hill Professional 2009.
The only way Codeword will be successful is if you (the person reading this page) decide to contribute to the project in some way. Whether it be feedback of some sort ("Codeword sucks"+meaningful_complaint) or adding to the tool's capabilities by contributing source code, it really is up to you to make Codeword useful.
